Saturday August 20th from 1.00pm to 3.30 pm you will be able to meet several artists who have contributed to the exhibition currently showing in Canterbury Museum REGROUP, REFLECT, REGENERATE: Medal Artists of New Zealand 25th Anniversary Exhibition.
Bing Dawe, Richard Mathieson, Frances Battersby, Nigel Brown, Christine Massey, Fiona Garlick, and Michael Reed will be in the Level 3 Gallery and available to discuss their work and answer your questions.
Sunday August 21st from 1.00pm - 2.00pm DR MARK STOCKER (Curator, Historical International Art, Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa) will tell the story behind the Te Pahi Medal. Dr Stocker is a former Cantabrian whose research expertise includes British and New Zealand art, especially sculpture, public monuments and numismatics (coins and medals).
